How to Purchase Instruments
It is highly recommended that you speak to the director before ordering an instrument online.  Amazon has great deals. However, these instruments are typically of poor quality.  Many of these instruments are mass-produced by machine pressing the materials.  The warranties with these instruments also only cover flaws from the factory.  They will not cover repairs, string replacements, or set-up.  If you choose to order online, please select quality instruments such as Senetor, Knelling, Yamaha, or Schneider.  Instruments should also only be purchased in a natural color, please do not purchase colored instruments (professionals playing on colored instruments spend thousands of dollars to have the instruments custom-made and are for entertainment purposes only).

A quality instrument will be hand-made by a company or locally by Luthiers.  Purchasing an instrument should be treated as an investment, it may be a significant commitment up front; however, quality instruments will last a student throughout their schooling.  Not to mention, when students play a quality instrument, they are more likely to continue with the activity.  If their instrument is constantly out-of-tune or challenging to tune, then they may lose interest in the activity, this is not the result of their abilities, just the quality of the instrument they are playing on.
